Mitchell Marsh said it would be "incredible" to play for Australia with his brother Shaun, after being named in Twenty20 squad to take South Africa next month. Marsh, 19, was one of three uncapped players selected in Australia's group of 14 men for two T20s in Johannesburg and Cape Town, and if he made his debut could be a side with Shaun the top order.
They are the second set of brothers to play in the Twenty20 side for Australia after Michael and David Hussey. This was a great month for the family Marsh, Mitchell's call comes after Shaun has made a hundred of his Test debut in Sri Lanka, and less than a week after their father Geoff was appointed coach of Sri Lanka new leader.
"It's a great joy for me," Marsh said of his promotion ESPNcricinfo T20. "I was really shocked, but I think I'm ready. I'm just looking forward to going there and I hope to my chance. It's a cliché, but it would be a dream [to play with Shaun]. I hope I can come and get a game with Shaun - it would be incredible. "
A versatile promising Marsh, 19, was placed on a stable path for the Australian side since he was captain of the country's Under-19 World Cup-winning teams in New Zealand in 2010. Last year, said his new coach Mickey Arthur Marsh State had the potential to become a multi-like Jacques Kallis, batting in the top five, and serves the marine fourth of a page.
Last summer, his first under the tutelage of Arthur Marsh painted a maiden first-class 100 picked up seven wickets Ryobi Cup. Then he went to India, IPL, where he played four games for the Warriors, and Pune, collected April 25 Man-of-the-Match the success of the Deccan Chargers.
"I think I improved a lot over the last 12 months," he said. "The mental side of my game has improved a lot with Mickey. It gives me great confidence in me. Hopefully I can take it there in first class this season and also in South Africa. "
Marsh impressed the selectors with his efforts on the recent tour of Australia in Zimbabwe, where he played strongly in the one dayers against Zimbabwe and South Africa A. In his appearances in four, Marsh made 23, 41, 72 and 5, and collected six windows, including a match winning 4-56 in the final against South Africans.
"Being around guys like Peter Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus in a bowling perspective, learn about their healing, and how they go about preparing for games, it was something that really helped me in Zimbabwe," said Marsh. "The professionalism of the group was amazing. I think I got a lot out of it and I hope I can move it forward. "
