Kris Srikkanth, the chairman of the selection committee in India, describes India toured England without a win as a "bad dream" and said the team needed to move forward and focus on the series to come, including travel of Australia from December
"Australia is the next goal," Srikkanth told The Times of India. "We have a couple sets at home [against England and West Indies] before, and those matches and we try to choose the optimal combination in Australia. We have to compensate for the loss of England."
Srikkanth, whose mandate was extended by the BCCI Annual General Meeting on September 19, welcomed the appointment of Mohinder Amarnath to the selection committee as a representative of the Northern Zone. "Jimmy [Amarnath] add much value," he said. "We are excited to be around. It seems that someone who is very experienced and cricket, which will help in the selection."
India were beaten 0-4 in the test series in England, 0-3, and a five-match ODI series and lost the Twenty20 solitario well. Srikkanth said team performance was "the worst" of his mandate to change the office. "It happens, and we must be patient with the team," he said. "We need to take corrective action to ensure that things fall into place. We can not forget all the good things that happened before the series England.
"We won the cricket World Cup, we do not have time to soak in the celebration. Before we did this in very different circumstances. This is a time of trial for the Indian cricket, and we need to try different things, to ensure that you can come back with a bang. "
Srikkanth said that England was clearly the first "best", and India were "defeated by the department," a series of fitness issues was exacerbated the problems of the team. How young people run, Srikkanth said, was one of the positives from the tour to climb.
"I have fought a series very young. All matches will be affected by rain, and the D / L method," he said. "In addition there were minor injuries well. That someone can do if Rohit Sharma, breaks his finger away from the ball before it faces? One can not really control injuries. Now is to go forward, and the next big challenge is to play our full strength against England at home. "
