Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Dolphins batsman, was suspended from cricket for three months, the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS). The ban, effective immediately, was taken after sibutramine, a substance diet pills is WADA prohibited list, which is Van Jaarsveld sample taken in October 2010.

At that time, van Jaarsveld temporarily suspended by Cricket South Africa until a hearing with Said, but was later cleared. Said noted that Van Jaarsveld had taken diet pills for legitimate reasons, not to improve performance and has been flawless in the circumstances. The AMA, however, called Said and imposed a suspension as fresh as a consequence.

van Jaarsveld, who played two ODIs and three Twenty20s South Africa, has been prescribed weight loss medication, when he played for the Lions in July 2010. "He asked the doctor to check that the medication does not contain banned substances. It seems that the doctor made a mistake when" South African cricketers' Association (SACA) said the release. "This has led to the presence of sibutramine van Jaarsveld is a sample of the test day."

"This result is particularly acute in Vaughn," Tony Irish, said SACA chief executive. "There are some issues we are considering at this time about this decision, even if Vaughn has the right to appeal this decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland and also in the actual length of the suspension."

Irish was no hope for the right to appeal and said van Jaarsveld can "live with the suspension, which comes at the worst possible time for him."

van Jaarsveld was part of a group of 28 men who participated in a training camp for four days under the supervision of Gary Kirsten at the Arabella Golf estate, in early August. The camp was attended by CSA contracted players and the marginalized in the national team. He also made a promising start to the 2011-12 season at home, scoring a century for the Dolphins in his first game against the Lions in the Supersport series. van Jaarsveld has been removed from the Titans team to play the Dolphins in a game that begins Thursday.

Both the SACA and the Dolphins have agreed to support van Jaarsveld this season. Dolphins and CEO of Jesse van Jaarsveld Chellan ESPNCricinfo said that has not lost his contract and that "even if we lack in matches to come, is only a short time and we at her side."
