Fabian Cowdrey, son of Chris Cowdrey and grand-son of Colin Cowdrey, continue the family link with Kent after signing his first professional contract with the club.
County Cricket Cowdrey last play is 18 and was part of the Kent Junior Academy 2008-2010 and has played second XI on a regular basis.
It was one of a group of players to sign new agreements with Kent as the season look at the next county after the departure of Martin van Jaarsveld and Joe Denly and director of cricket, Paul Farbrace. Adam Riley, offspinner, and Chris Piesley have extended their contract at the same time also members of the Academy, Ivan Thomas, versatile, and Benedict Kemp, seamer that's right, have secured the deal.
"It was very gratifying to see the products Academy Ivan Thomas, Benedict Kemp and Fabian Cowdrey making in second eleven cricket this season," Simon Willis, Kent High Performance Director, said. "They were rewarded for their efforts markets in 2012 season and look forward to watching their continued development as they are exposed to the academic environment. "
However, drummer James Goodman, who represented England under 19, finished his career after deciding to pursue opportunities away from the game.
