Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) has revoked its decision to appoint the flag of Sabina Park after the first West Indian Lawrence Rowe hitters. The decision came after Rowe reportedly told a radio station that he had done nothing wrong by participating in the West Indies rebel tour of South Africa in 1983 and 1984. In June this year, Rowe had apologized to travel to South Africa during apartheid, while being honored by the JCA.
"The board of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA), after careful consideration, decided at its last meeting of the Board to revoke its decision on June 20, 2011, on behalf of Sabina Park in honor players Hall of Mr. Lawrence Rowe, "Jamaica Observer quoted a statement from the Council JCA agency.
"According to what he said he showed no remorse," said President JCA Lyndel Wright, the same newspaper. "The people of Jamaica were injured and a national sport organization, who were embarrassed by his statements during the interview.
"Although it has been a hot topic in the media, did not want to rush the decision so it took some time to discuss and think."
