Mal Loye Released By Northants

Mal Loye drummer was released by Northamptonshire. The Northampton-born Loye, 38, has had a long association with the county and went through their squads age before its inception in 1991 Northants. He represented Northants for 13 years, sandwiching seven years of success with Lancashire.

A top-destructive batsman Loye scored over 15,000 first class runs and 8,900 one-day passes, scoring 52 centuries in county cricket. During his time at the County road, Loye recorded the third highest score in the history of cricket Northants, 322 not against Glamorgan in 1998. It was during the sleeves that set the county a better wicket partnership of 401 with the fifth wicketkeeper David Ripley.

It 'was also too late for England cricketer. Loye played for England Under-19 and then resume the tour in 1993-94 team, but was only given the opportunity to show their worth in international cricket tour of England later in Australia 2006-07. He has struggled to build a substantial innings, however, and stay away from the team when Michael Vaughan's World Cup returned.

"I would like to pay tribute to Mal for his contribution and service to Northants Cricket and the English game," said head coach David Capel. "It has always been a person who is admired and to see a favorite bats. More recently, he helped many of our young players, passing on the valuable experience that is much appreciated.

"We want to wish you all the best for Mal and his future endeavors within and outside of cricket."

Meanwhile, the Northamptonshire captain Andrew Hall has signed a contract extension of two years of stay in the Northants cricket until the end of the season 2014. Northants stay in a room full time coach and help talented young players in the county during the winter months, and to help the commercial arm of the club.

"When I started here, David Capel and I told him I wanted to bring through the next group of young local players, and stay with me for 12 months, gives me a great opportunity to work with them," says Hall.
