Harbhajan dropped for first two ODIs

Offspinner Harbhajan Singh was excluded from the squad in India for the first two ODIs against England on 14 October 17. Karnataka medium-pacer S Aravind and Punjab legspinner Rahul Sharma received their daughter's subsequent international.

Fast bowler, Varun Aaron who was part of the ODI team in England but did not play, kept his place in the team of 15 people. The batsmen Ajinkya Rahan and Manoj Tiwary is the replacement of other envoys in England, who held their places.

The fast bowler Umesh Yadav, who was not a part of India in place since the 2010-11 Test series in South Africa also made a comeback.

The team is missing Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Munaf Patel and Sharma Ishanti due to injuries on the recent trip to England. Fast bowler Ashish Nehra, who had declared himself fit after breaking his hand during the World Cup, Yusuf Pathan and versatile, which was part of the team World Cup, has not been selected.

This selection meeting in Chennai was the first after the BCCI replaced by Yashpal Sharma, Mohinder Amarnath with the representative of the northern part of the panel.
