Woolf President Of The International Criminal Court Review Of Governance

Lord Harry Woolf, former Supreme Court of England and Wales, has been appointed president of an independent review of the International Criminal Court Administration. Woolf, assisted by PricewaterhouseCoopers [PwC], the international professional services.


Before his tenure as chief justice - which ended in 2005 - Woolf was the master of the rolls between 1996 and 2000, the second most senior judge in England and Wales. He was also the first Chief Justice to be president of the courts in England and Wales. In addition to his work in England, he was at the High Court of Appeal of Hong Kong since 2003 and Chairman of Qatar Financial Centre Civil and Commercial Court since 2007.

The review is part of the ICC's new strategic plan implemented this year. He will begin immediately and include clarifying the role and structure of the ICC and its committees, except for a consideration of the nomination of the president and the electoral process, membership categories and criteria for membership, rules of ethics and, among other things, the constitutional framework.
