Yorkshire v Hampshire, Rose Bowl, 3 days

August 4, 2011

291 of 2532 vYorkshire Hampshire

Michael Carberry put behind him nine months of illness, injury to score his first century of the season as Hampshire and Yorkshire luntede to a high score draw at the Rose Bowl. Carberry, capped once by England in Bangladesh in March 2010 was diagnosed with blood clots in the lungs in November last year, preventing him from traveling to Australia with the England team performance.

Until last month, Carberry spent time recovering from a diagnosis, I do not know if or when he plays again. But he soon made up for lost time only his third season of the Championship match innings 140 not out from Hampshire continued their recovery in response to the Yorkshire first innings total of 532 large

Hampshire through the third day, losing the wicket after the first 45 days of transfer of division was wiped out by rain. Hampshire resumed at acquisitions 116, February 29 and ended the day 81 291 2, 241 are still behind but eight wickets in hand.

Carberry and veteran South African Neil McKenzie added 175 in 52 overs possible, with inability to achieve a breakthrough on a wicket that offered easy pace bowlers a little help from Yorkshire. The third wicket pair had added 232 with McKenzie about punishment and well-placed, finishing the third day 95 not out.

Innings Carberry is 213 deliveries and included 24 fours, as well as six off left-handed spinner David Wainwright. McKenzie, in preparation for their second championship century period, has so far faced 199 balls and hit 11 fours.

Yorkshire captain Anthony McGrath took eight bowlers attempt to award third wicket pair of intervals, including transfers and their two little-used, Jacques Rudolph together.

With one day to go to any of them can afford a draw, with the bottom of the table and New Hampshire without a win, while Yorkshire have managed just two wins. At stumps they had collected in three bonus points, leaving 92 other Hampshire to avoid having to follow the Yorkshire, but I know it will be difficult to realize that heaven is a drummer.

Hampshire last lost a wicket on 59 when Jimmy Adams was caught at the counter in the 16th past, but he spent a long time as Carberry and McKenzie has Yorkshire bowling wear that way, Hampshire were conducted in both days.
