England v India, 3rd Test, Edgbaston

Ravi Bopara Essex remember that the English team in the third test against India, Edgbaston starting on Wednesday, when Jonathan Trott failed to return to full fitness after landing heavily on the shoulder when fielding last week, the Bridge test of Trento.

Bopara, who played the last of his ten Tests against Australia in August 2009, was deemed unlucky to miss selection against Sri Lanka earlier this season, after 192 Eoin Morgan for the Lions England tipped the scales in its favor. He got his chance in this game, but despite strong opposition from the uncapped Leicestershire batsman James Taylor, who won 98 for the Lions against Sri Lanka A at Scarborough on Friday.

"We saw some very nice performances in the first two npower Test matches," said national selector Geoff Miller. "But there is still much to do in this series, and the team and management are determined to carry the momentum of recent weeks thanks to the other two tests and push for a comprehensive series victory.

Also included in the squad of 13 men is the Middlesex seamer, Steven Finn, who came as coverage on the eve of trial after the Trent Bridge Chris Tremlett has succumbed to a back spasm. While Tremlett is also in the team, his replacement, Tim Bresnan, excellent performance in his absence, making a 90 seconds free-flowing sleeves of England, and sealing the victory of 319 runs with his best figures 5 to 48.

"Ravi Bopara Jonathan Trott is continuing his rehabilitation of his shoulder injury," confirmed Mr. Miller. "Chris Tremlett is recovering well from back spasms that dismissed the second test and, although we hope to be in good shape before Wednesday, we felt it was prudent to include an additional seam player at this stage means Finn Steven comes in the team."

Bopara made only 25 and 19 in England Lions game this week, but has confirmed that this is an impressive 178 against Essex Leicestershire last week. If England continue six batters, is likely to place in the order of half, while Ian Bell is likely to replace Trott is at number 3 after his superb 159 in the second inning Trent Bridge. Bopara was mixed to the No 3 magic in the last part of the test. He made 143 against West Indies at Chester-le-Street, but then managed only 105 in seven innings in the ashes.

England is currently riding high in the series, led 2-0 with two Tests to come, and even a victory will guarantee the success of India as No. 1 team in Test cricket.
