reliable batting pair of Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman have both jumped in the latest Reliance ICC Player Rankings for Test batsmen following their impressive performances in the ongoing Test series against West Indies.

Dravid scored 119 while Laxman made an unbeaten 176 as the home team cruised to an innings victory over West Indies in Kolkata. As a result, Dravid has moved up four places to eighth position in the rankings and Laxman gains five spots to 13th.

However Windies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul has slipped in his ranking even after scoring a century in first test at Delhi. The Guyanese left-hander loses four places to remain just inside the top 10.

In bowling, left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha is the main mover as he gains six places to 26th position, the highest ranking of his career to date. The 25-year-old took 13 wickets (seven in Delhi and six in Kolkata) in two matches, helping to give India an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
