Shane Watson has threatened to be back to his all-round best when Australia take on South Africa in their upcoming series. Watson did not bowl during New South Wales' Champions League campaign following a Cricket Australia directive, but will go all out with both bat and ball against South Africa.

"After the amount of bowling I did in Sri Lanka, they [the medical staff] thought it would be a good time to just take my bowling workload down a little, but heading into this big series I will be good to go," Watson said.

Watson hopes his return to bowling will also have an impact on his staff after completing only 75 runs in five banks in the Champions League. "I was not bowling and I did not score a point," he said. "What I like about being a versatile, is that if something is not exactly the way you want, you can always make a big contribution to the performance of the team.

"I was frustrated with the Champions League and it's really the reason I applied to be a passion. You do not always a good game and if you have two options to get a good game that puts your mind at rest. "

His bowling may have an important role to play in the series, with Australia missing the experience of Brett Lee, who was ruled out of the series with appendicitis. Watson Lee called the absence of a "great loss" but said it could provide an opportunity to introduce a new person, as 18 years of Pat Cummins, who drew attention with its rhythm in the smaller format.

After seeing a bowl NSW, Watson has a firsthand view of what Cummins has to offer. "This is a rare talent at such a young age," said Watson. "To bowl with the skill and pace that is special. Pat is a very impressive for a 18 year old. I know what I thought at 18 years and still get a shot myself. He is intelligent and humble young man, very bright. "

Australia has yet to replace the name of Lee, Twenty20 and ODI teams, which means that the Cummins is sure to have a chance. When he does, Watson believed to surprise people in its rhythm. "As soon as you go down and run and try to bowl, bowls, and soon, I think everyone can see how mature he is the head," he said. "They will see his skill and talent, which is as impressive as any I've seen a young guy to come in the last 10 years."

South Africa will continue to tour Australia reconstruction phase after the World Cup to forget summer residence and disappointing. "We're still trying to continue to grow after some disappointing performances in the ash and the World Cup," said Watson. "We've seen some good signs during the visit to Sri Lanka. There is no doubt that South Africa is in a similar place."

Both countries have had to cope with recent changes and there were fears that competition between them may not be as strong, especially the T20, the senior players in both camps are sitting outside. "In a sense, is a bit 'disappointing," said Watson. For example, Jacques Kallis is one of the logical T20 batsmen in the world. We Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke and Michael Hussey who do not play in our team. It 'will certainly change the dynamics of our team, and I am sure he will do in South Africa. I am sure of their longevity, is what they think is best able to continue to be one day and Test cricket for as long as possible. "

Watson knows how important it is to stay in shape. After battling numerous injuries for many years, has finally found a formula that works for him and he is enjoying every minute. "I like the chance to play more than I can, because I was probably about six years where I did not really play so much, not constantly in each case," he said. "So now I'm trying to enjoy every game I play because I lost a lot. I'm just loving every opportunity I get to play, because I know how fast you can get carried away."
