Allrounder Suryakumar Yadav was allowed to return to Mumbai Indians team in front of the T20 Champions League semifinals after initially been blocked due to an injury. As a result, the Champions League withdrew the concession given to the Mumbai Indians to field five foreign players in each game, the franchise will adhere to the four foreigners who have permission from the other side.

Yadav was one of eight Indian players reported injured by the Indians in Mumbai, leaving them with only seven Indian players in their team.
