Left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak has been dropped from the Bangladesh Test squad for the two-match series against West Indies. Allrounder Mahmudullah, who missed the limited-overs leg of the home series with viral fever, was also left out, along with middle-order batsman Mohammad Ashraful and seamer Shafiul Islam. Robiul Islam and Junaid Siddique were the other players to miss out from the Test squad that recently toured Zimbabwe.

Fast bowler Shahadat Hossain, who has been out of national consideration for more than a year, earned a recall, as did top-order batsman Raqibul Hasan whose last Test was in January 2010. Allrounder Elias Sunny forced his way into the set-up on the back of a strong show in the recent Bangladesh Board Cup, while Naeem Islam also found a place in the 14-member squad.

Bangladesh won the solitary Twenty20 that kicked off the tour, before West Indies took the ODI series 2-1. The first Test is from October 21 in Chittagong, while the second gets underway on October 29 in Mirpur.

Bangladesh squad: Mushfiqur Rahim (capt & wk), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Shakib Al Hasan, Raqibul Hasan, Naeem Islam, Nasir Hossain, Shahriar Nafees, Rubel Hossain, Nazmul Hossain, Shahadat Hossain, Suhrawadi Shuvo, Shuvagata Hom, Elias Sunny
