KARACHI: The Pakistan government has not kept Ijaz Butt President of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Zaka Ashraf has been appointed to replace him.
Ashraf, a senior banker, will take over as chairman of PCB, with immediate effect, replacing Butt, who completed his three-year term, October 8, President of Pakistan said.
Butt term of office, started in 2008, has been plagued by controversy, like last year's scandal-spots in England which led to bans on players Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamir, and he was also responsible for the PCBs to the team of Sri Lanka was attacked in Lahore in 2009.
