Victoria 5 for 212 (Rogers 72, Handscomb 71) trail Queensland 355 (Robinson 78, Pattinson 3-75) by 143 runs

The debutant batsman Peter Handscomb showed impressive composure to keep Victoria steady on the second day at the Gabba, where they chipped away at Queensland's first innings of 355. Batting at No.3 Handscombe had remained at the crease of half past four ET set to a value of 90 run stand for the second wicket with Chris Rogers, who eventually returned to catch lobed legspinner Cameron Boyce in the 72nd Walter Scott won two doors, including Victoria captain Andrew McDonald for 33 after finishing unbeaten on 14 rounds in Queensland earlier in the day.
