Lulama Masikazana, a former wicketkeeper Eastern Province, died 38 years after a sudden illness. He has represented the eastern province of 38 games between 1993 and 2000, when a first-class at 50 and 111 people affected by the dismissal.
"He was one of the first African players to represent South African schools after the completion of the unit," CSA chief Gerald Majola said, "to select national XI in 1991 and 1992." The school team included the future of South Africa as international Shaun Pollock, Nicky Boje and Herschelle Gibbs.
"It's always a tragedy to lose a family member of the CSA cricket at such a young age and we share with family and friends a sense of great personal loss," said Majola.
