Teams: Pakistan
The format is always the same as last season, 22 teams and first class - as well as regional and departmental dress - compete in two league structures. Teams promoted and expel each season based on performance. The two bottom teams in Division I - one of the wards, and one was reduced to a regional Division II next season. Players to watch
HBL is about to lose many of their most influential players like Taufeeq Umar, Imran Farhat, Younis Khan, Umar Gul and Abdul Rehman can be sent to the national mission at certain stages of the tournament. They are lucky, however, services have Shehzad Ahmed is currently out of the national team, and Shahid Afridi, who has "conditionally" withdrawn from international cricket. The team is full of talent, especially in the fast bowling department. Seamer Sami, Sohail Tanvir Ahmed Khan and form the backbone of the attack, while Khalid Latif Hassan Shahzaib and must provide the ballast to bat.
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)
Captain: Kashif Siddiq
Stages of SBP way to the top of Section II, where they won four of the nine matches and lost one. The promotion came on the back of an effective performance from a device that has overcome its lack of star power. It was a hard journey, though, as they beat Pakistan Television in three days, and later hit Khan Research Laboratories in the Division II final.
Saddiq House veteran will be your talisman, this year, and once again enter the fray with a group of low profile, but the meeting the artists.
Players to watch
SBP will be strengthened by the arrival of Raja Ramee junior, who had moved to Karachi after Blues at the top of the charts last year. Another international presence is Shoaib Khan, who was the highest run scorer in the 2008 season. He will try to hit ground running after spending much of his off-season playing League cricket in England.
Rawalpindi
Captain: Babar Naeem
Rawalpindi has improved enormously in recent years and finished third last season with 54 points. They were one of the three pages of Title I to win six games. If they had won their last match against Sialkot, they could have done for the playoffs.
Players to watch
Sadaf Hussain, a fast player who plans to enter the big league soon, Rawalpindi will be the man to watch. It 'was ranked Top wicket-takers last year, only 64 scalps in his second season. Now they have resurfaced in the internal circuitry of the Division II classification.
Players to watch
The team is composed largely of low-key national stakeholders. Misbah Khan, the offspinner, missing in action last season but is back in the mix this year. The team also includes versatile Tahir Mughal, a veteran of 103 first class matches, the Sialkot region.Given the near experimental look to their line-up,avoiding relegation will be a challenge.
