Mohammad Yousuf, the Pakistan batsman, has retired from Faysal Bank T20 next tournament citing personal commitments. General Abdul Razzaq shoe moves to the captain of Lahore Lions by Yousuf.
"My decision was purely based on my personal commitments," said Yousuf. "I do not know why [people] in my ouster depicting a negative, but I can assure you that I am fine and still have the passion to play cricket."
Reports have appeared from time to time suggesting that Yusuf was a silent retreat of all sizes - not for the first time - after the CCP to snub him during the delivery of central contracts for the second half of the year. However, Yousuf, confirmed that it intends to withdraw immediately.
Yousuf, 37, a veteran of 90 tests and 288 one-day international, last played for Pakistan in 2010 against South Africa, home again Midway because of physical problems. "My physical condition is no longer a concern, and if someone wants to test my fitness level I have no question I played cricket and has just returned after playing league cricket."
Lahore City Cricket Association (CVMA) has described the decision to Yusuf out a "disappointment." "It's just your own decision, I wanted to play," said Nadeem Khawja LCCA President. "He was in the squad of Lahore after [agreed to play] and now he withdrew for personal reasons. The decision has sent today [Thursday] cited personal commitments and nothing else. Yousuf scored 72, 109, 68 and * 74 in four of his last six innings for Warwickshire in the English county circuit in May. Last year, he went and joined WAPDA Lahore after a rain with his teammate ships Rana-ul-Hasan. However, WAPDA's head of sports, Naveed Akram Cheema, remains optimistic about the return of Yousuf next door, while another department ZTBL department are eager to have Yousuf for next season.
