Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, who won the eye deteriorated to become a visionary and a pioneer in the Indian test team captain, died at the age of 70 suffered from Delhi interstitial lung disease. He leaves his wife, Sharmila Tagore, son Saif Ali Khan and his two daughters, Saba and Soha Ali Khan. Tagore, Saif and Soha are well-known actors in Indian cinema.

Pataudi played 46 tests between 1961 and 1975 and was probably the greatest captain of India.
