Shane Warne has said he will come out of retirement to play for major league hit this summer, but has not yet decided which team will win its services. Warne, 42, has not played cricket in Australia's elite since his last Test at the SCG in January 2007.

His return will be a big boost for the first season of the CBA, a competition that Cricket Australia has high hopes for when it starts in December. Warne said at the Footy Show on Channel Nine that he had not decided whether it will be of the Stars in Melbourne, to be presented at the MCG or Docklands Melbourne-based Renegades, but was certainly the intention of play.

"It 'great that there are two teams here," said Warne. "I'm not leaning one way or another. I'm definitely going to play a few games and have fun. I like to help young players and have some fun 'in Twenty20."

Warne retired from the IPL this year, but has hinted for some time to a possible return to the BBL. Not the only ex-Australia star out of retirement to Twenty20 tournament, the heat of Brisbane have already signed Matthew Hayden.
