In light of the damage the crisis was in India on tour in England, the BCCI said it will remain in close contact with IPL franchises to ensure players are fit for national service.
"During our meeting with the franchise out that they are paying close attention to these problems and give the team physiotherapists instructions to avoid damage to the spinal damage," the new commissioner Rajiv Shukla told PTI IPL. "We are paying close attention to these problems, we contact the physical therapists, and the number of franchises so that any damage must be immediately addressed."
This is a disastrous tour, where they were beaten 0-4 0-3 in tests and ODIs, India has lost the services of Zaheer Khan, the first day of the first trial of the Lord. After playing in the IPL, Virender Sehwag was dismissed in the first two tests because of the injured shoulder while Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Praveen Kumar injured during the series.
Shukla defended the IPL, saying it should be emphasized to blame injuries for players, but said the government should take measures to ensure co-ordination "perfect" physical form of the franchise on the players'.
"In my opinion, the injuries, I think that IPL should not only blame all the teams are faced with these problems and many players were injured during the series in England too, so I do not think that the IPL shall be solely blamed for this, "he said. "But at the same time, the handling of injury problems, also on our minds and action will be taken to minimize injury problems. There will be a perfect coordination between the BCCI and the various franchise."
