Much has changed in the West Indies cricket in the years since Denesh Ramdin has played a test for them. Of the XI who started playing against South Africa, Barbados, there are only three others in the team for next month's tour of Bangladesh.

West Indies, with players often lose their pictures, either for lack of form, lack of enthusiasm for the most or a dispute with the board, Ramdin turns aside as one of the more experienced players. He lost his place last year after a career in the welding of the home series against South Africa, making 34 runs from five ODIs and 63 runs in three tests. It also cost him his central contract.

"I am delighted to be back after a year out of international cricket," said Saturday, just before the Trinidad and Tobago began a training session in Bangalore in the long term. "We really worked hard on my game, which is really what I expected. I hope to put the results on the table."

Its call is a successful season behind the national T & T, which has completed one hundred and two fifties in his last three innings. "I was told I had to work, so I went back home and, at the national level, I had a lot of runs. Do you think they are probably happy that's why I came back."

It still faces competition from Carlton Baugh for a place in the side test, but it is the first limited overs cricket user. How did he stay motivated in his time away from the international scene? "Seeing my friends play at international level, I would also like to come back and play with them."

In almost all international games, he batted in the lower middle order, something you want to change in coming years. "I hope one day will be the opening of the bar, being at the top of the order."

However, only 26, Ramdin was made in the West Indies vice-captain for three years and could have taken the lead after Chris Gayle had kept its shape. Is this something that you regret? "No, I do not think the captain, have not really affected by something. I was concentrating on my own game
