Glamorgan 423 of December 9 and 129 to beat Kent 237 & 312 by eight windows
Glamorgan wrapped up an eight-wicket success over Kent with a session to spare for their second league away win of the season, but this time in the spotlight at Canterbury.
Chasing 129 for victory in the first championship game to be played with a pink ball and a camera day / night, Glamorgan sailed to victory courtesy of skipper Alviro Petersen with an unbeaten 70 from 54 balls and an equal brisk19 of as many deliveries of the first - round top scorer Stewart Walters.
Gareth Rees lost visitors a sliding catch by Alex Blake, with 19 on board, and Will Bragg (30) was completely overwhelmed by Matt Coles. It was shown that the ultimate success of the Kent game, however, that Walters and Petersen then combined to add 34 tracks total needed for victory and deserved.
Kent began the day at 148 for 5 and still behind by 38 in the game overall, but the pink ball, projectors and dew in the early evening was all unknown quantities. In many ways the result of incumbent player of the season, beating Kent and No6 Azhar Mahmood, who, after resuming on 31, could have beaten Wales out of the equation.
As Mahmood sacked seven fours and a six in a catchy way to 70 before ending a toe-kick the goalkeeper tried to cut against the military junta half bowling occasional Bragg. Bragg was the inaugural class to leave first.
Although Kent acting captain Geraint Jones, playing his first county, the pressure in the second 79 from stoic, almost three hours, the cheap wickets fell around him like Kent finally sold for 312
Spinner Coska veteran Dean was easily the visitors attacked with renewed 4-106 With Glamorgan walked away with a victory leaves Kent to see their worst championship finish since 1995.
