Kenya will tour Namibia and Zimbabwe ahead of the World Twenty20 qualifier next year. They will play eight Twenty20 matches against Namibia, from November 2, and then go to Zimbabwe on November 15 to play two Twenty20 matches each against Mashonaland Eagles and Midwest Rhinos.

Separate 16-man squads have been selected for the two legs of the tour. The squad that goes to Zimbabwe will feature 16 of the 20 players that were named in Kenya's national training squad, with Seren Waters, Tanmay Mishra and Runish Gudhka not available for selection, and James Ngoche only included for the Namibia leg of the tour. The squad for the matches in Namibia includes wicketkeeper Peter Kituku from the emerging players squad, as well as batsman Ramesh Mepani from outside both the training and emerging squads.

Kenya's players were recently involved in the East Africa Premier League, and their chairman of selectors, Alpesh Vadher, said the tournament revealed how much the side needed to improve.

"Following the completion of the East Africa Premier League these two tours will be crucial in developing our player's skills in this format, ahead of the T20 World Cup qualifying tournament next March," Vadher said. "The EAPL has shown us that our players have a lot to learn about playing Twenty20 and the more matches we can play against suitable opposition the better. The two squads selected give opportunities to a number of players to show they have the ability to make the squad next year."
