Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly is hopeful of India's victory in the ongoing ODI series against England and said the team was capable of beating any country in the world. "Indian team is very strong and able to beat any team anywhere in the world," Ganguly told reporters.
He said selectors should give space to young players.
"Suresh Raina has a lot of talent but he has to prove himself in Test matches," he said.
To another question, Ganguly said injury was the main reason for India's drubbing during the last England tour.
"Zaheer Khan's injury weakened the bowling strength," he said.
Ganguly also made it clear that he will continue to play in IPL and Ranji Trophy matches.
"Currently, however, I am enjoying myself as a cricket commentator," he said.
Referring to the cricketers of Bihar, he wondered why cricket had failed to develop in the state despite thrust on sports.
"It is a strange matter... I am sorry to know about the plight of cricket and budding cricket talents in Bihar in absence of opportunity," he said.
Advising the cricketers hard work, Ganguly said, "I think a day will come when they will also be a part of the team at national level."
Ganguly was here on a day-long tour for sales promotion of a private company.
