Beau Casson will contemplate his future in the game as he flies home to Sydney on Wednesday, having been ruled out of the final two days of the Sheffield Shield match between New South Wales and South Australia at Adelaide Oval.

Recalled to the NSW Shield team for the match, Casson felt unwell shortly before he was due to take the ball in the first session on day one, and later blacked out in the change rooms. It was an unfortunate recurrence of heart-rate problems that have punctuated Casson's career, and he was subsequently taken to hospital.

Once there, Casson expressed to team-mates his devastation at leaving the Blues a bowler short in the field, and his coach Anthony Stuart said the left-arm wrist spinner now had to undergo another round of testing and examination at home before he could be passed fit to play again.

"His health is paramount, and when we spoke to him yesterday [the hospital], he was devastated," said Stuart. "He was coherent, he was talkative, more disappointed than anything else, how things had panned, but there is some history, and we need to ensure her health comes first, and he gets well, and we going from there.

"He had some tests today. Doctor gave him permission to leave the hospital. He will live in one night. The plan is that it will go to Sydney tomorrow, so he got a clean bill of health to leave the hospital.

"When he returned to Sydney, there will be more tests, we have to do, he got his cardiologist back in Sydney. Then there will be some things we will have to go through before it is allowed to play sports again. "

The question of the future of Casson is a delicate exercise because it is still one of the most talented slow bowlers in the country. But the recurrence of heart problems before he even did it at the bowling crease is the outlook for cricket disorder also known as Stuart.

"You need permission from a specialist, and will undergo rigorous tests, but they did the last time too," said Stuart. "It's a difficult question to answer I am not a medical expert would be a shame if he could not, but his health comes first.

"I think we just do one step at a time, back in Sydney, he sees his girlfriend talks about her family and sees a specialist and go from there. We will do everything to make sure everything goes well for him."

The Blues have been dominated by Redback in two days, but the suggestions Stuart pushed the episode could have affected the focus of your team.

"Obviously we would have liked an extra bowler, so maybe their board, it could hit us a little, 'but [Simon Katica] bowled well for us," said Stuart. "From a striking point of view, no, we do not give any excuses with the bat, there is Beau, the boys play in this regard.

"Boys" headspace is fine if there were any questions so it should not be, they are professional enough to know that they need to move forward with their own jobs there. "
