Broad unlikely to play again this year

Stuart Broad admitted he is unlikely to play again this year while recovering from a shoulder injury took against India, but has said it will not require surgery.

Major had already been ruled out for the matches against the West Indies and return a series of days in India, but was given some hope of playing in the Twenty20 Kolkata, in late October. "The shoulder is still pretty sore. "It is not 100% confirmed, I will not be playing in India but I will only play if rehabilitation goes fantastically well.

"It 'a good news that I do not need surgery. It' s always an additional risk of surgery so that everything would be fine. It 'a recovery time of two months though so I need to get this right and make sure it's all over, and has no side effects with it. "

Broad injury means he will lose his experience as a captain in the promotion Twenty20s against the West Indies and Graeme Swann next door in his absence.
