Durham was frustrated by the weather over three days at Chester-le-Street, where only 12.2 overs were played in the Championship leaders' Division One match against Nottinghamshire. Durham go into the final day on 37 for two in their second innings, leading by 127, and may find it difficult to set a target without risking defeat.
When you start later, only six could be over, Durham proceeds without the loss of six to 22 seconds before the break. Play resumed at 14:50 and 6.2 transfers have lost both openers. Will Smith was the first to go when he hit a long jump directly to Charlie Shreck, Sam Kelsall cover.
